Is The Secret all about the teachings of Abraham-Hicks?

If so, is this just another religon that encapsulates all that is good?

I loved the movie The secret and what it stands for, but I can't help feeling that I have been coerced into a religon and that was not my intentions.

I apoligise in advance if that offends anyone, but I have had enough of marketing strategies, and people who try to get me to be religious. I have a religon, and have rejected it as I believe it to be hypocritical. This does not mean that I dislike people who are religious, I just don't want it forced onto me.

Please tell me that I am wrong, and delusional as I tend to think too much at times and imagine all sorts of things. Sometimes my thoughts scare me, as I have a very active imagination.

I thought I would try to reply to your post as best I can but please understand I can only speak from my own perceptions of The Secret.

You ask if The Secret is all about the teachings of Abraham and therfore a backdoor more or less into another religion, While the Secret may in quite some way be in aligment with the teachings of Abraham I do not deel that it is entirely so and this is evidenced by the fact theat Esther and Jerry are now no longer conncted with the secret and as you may have seen the that in the latest extended version Esther is no longer a part of The Secret and this has been covered in other posts

For me The secret is primarily bringing The Law of Attraction to the public at Large, it outlines the ways and laws of the Universe, and also explains in Part why you attract circumstances in your life which for me are either because you are doing it by default, or more like because you have accepted conditioning from your peers or parents and upbringing and education and enviroment etc,

The evidence suggests that this knowledge has not been available en masse to people and has been in the past largely hidden and therfore would have been treated in the past as "Occult"  which the word itself means hidden although The Secret for me resonates on a deeply spiritual level I do not feel it is a religion pseudo or otherwise I feel it is a collection of techniques that place knowledge at our fingertips and therfore empower us to make choices within whatever spiritual paradigm we choose to folow, or not as the case may be.

another perception is that a lot of the teachers come from a corporate Life Coaching Background and teach the principles of success there is nothing wrong with that, however you approach The Secret from whatever angle for me it is a collection of tools to empower you to make your own choices.

 I for one do not feel that it is brainwashing, or a Cult or an alternative religion but I do feel it is a wonderful oppurtunity to find out what works for you I feel that Rhonda and the team have given much time and effort to bring something wonderful to the world but as always the choice is ours if it resonates with us great!! if not then move on to something that does I hope this helps
